DEFINITION & RATIONALE
Poetry can be found in every aspect of our daily lives and society. As educators, it is important to broaden the definition of poetry and create poetic experiences in the classroom. As readers, or consumers, of text, we utilize many poetic devices to make meaning of the images that we come into contact with everyday. By pairing poetry and visual culture, we are creating an explict realtionship between the way we encounter both aestethic expereinces. There are many resources that provide the theory behind this relationship, resources for bringing it into the classroom and interactive tools. This wiki attempts to catalogue some of those resources.
